Music of the Roaring 20’s features a time of transformation in music styles. The romantic era had come to an end, with new styles emerging such as jazz and ragtime. A young George Gershwin was the new shining star in music composition, and we will be performing many of his favorites. Irving Berlin was another young composer who was hitting his stride. We will perform a few of his big hits including “Puttin’ On The Ritz”, “Steppin’ Out With My Baby”, and “There’s No Business Like Show Business”. You’ll also hear great music from Duke Ellington, one of the great pianists of his day. Songs like “Satin Doll”, “Take the “A” Train”, and “Caravan” were big hits. Take a journey back 100 years and reminisce about the times when you first heard this iconic music
