Support for You and Your Loved One

Caring for your senior loved one is both a privilege and an enormous responsibility. The Council on Aging Martin County can help you access the services you need, get the respite care you deserve, and improve the quality of life that you spend with your loved one.

Caregiver Respite

The Adult Day Club is an excellent option for respite care. Our clients benefit from socialization, therapy and enhanced care, while their loved ones get a much-needed break. The Club's support services are designed to give caregivers vital respite time, with the peace of mind of knowing that their loved ones are in the very best of hands.

Caregivers of seniors coping with dementia can receive guidance and support through our GUIDE: Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience program. The program includes respite care for unpaid caregivers.

Care Managers

Our Care Managers can help you make the right choices for your senior loved one and manage any in-home assistance that is needed.

Caregiver Support Groups

The Council on Aging Martin County hosts three free monthly caregiver support groups where you can share tips, resources, and experiences with other caregivers, under the direction of a licensed clinical social worker with in-depth experience in elder care issues.

Caregiver Workshop

Each spring the Council on Aging Martin County presents the Caregiver Workshop, a day-long event that brings together caregivers and providers to share everyday tools and strategies for caring with someone with dementia. The workshop, held at the Kane Center, is educational, practical, and open to the community at no cost. Learn about upcoming workshops by signing up for the Council on Aging Martin County newsletter.
